Would you like to put your technical skills to use for smart charging solutions while contributing to a more sustainable world? Then this temporary position as a Technical Support Engineer at Alfen might be just right for you!

As a Technical Support Engineer at Alfen, you are a key player in supporting and improving our electric vehicle charging solutions. You ensure our customers and technicians receive optimal support during the installation, use, and repair of our charging stations. This includes analysing and resolving technical issues, improving support processes, and sharing knowledge with colleagues and partners.

You will work closely with technical specialists and Field Service Partners to ensure that our EVCE products operate reliably and are ready for the future. From assisting with firmware updates to analysing data files: your work makes a difference in the reliability and user-friendliness of our charging technology.

Thanks to your efforts, our smart charging stations across Europe continue to support the energy transition — and you help make electric driving even more accessible every day.

Your key tasks and responsibilities:

  • Responding to and logging technical support requests from customers, installers, and internal colleagues.

  • Diagnosing and resolving issues remotely (remote troubleshooting).

  • Identifying recurring issues and contributing to structural solutions.

  • Supporting technicians with solving technical problems and creating work orders.

What do we ask of you?

We’re looking for a hands-on, structured, and results-driven technical support professional. Someone who communicates effectively at all levels and builds support for your solutions and ideas. In addition, you have:

  • At least a completed secondary vocational education (MBO level 4), preferably in electrical engineering, IT, or mechatronics.

  • A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in a similar role.

  • Availability for at least 32 hours per week for six months.

  • Excellent command of Dutch and English, both written and spoken. Proficiency in German is a plus.

What do we offer?

At Alfen, we offer our employees a responsible and independent position with plenty of room for initiative, innovation, and personal input. We also provide:

  • A market-based salary aligned with the Metalektro collective labour agreement.

  • 27 vacation days + 13 ADV days annually, with the option to sell up to 10 vacation days.

  • A company laptop.

  • Free and unlimited access to our online learning environment.

  • Dedicated and friendly colleagues, plus social events organised by our AlFun and Young Alfen employee associations.

  • Free physical and mental health activities through Alfen, such as our Fitness Sportlab, participation in marathons, and tournaments.

  • Pension contributions through PME Pensioenfonds — with Alfen covering more than half of the premium.

  • Travel allowance of €0.23 per km, up to a maximum of 50 km one-way.

Where will you be working?

At Alfen, you're part of a company at the core of the energy transition. With a broad portfolio of in-house developed products and our expertise as a system integrator, we are building the electricity grid of the future: reliable, sustainable, and innovative. Alfen is the place for those who thrive on innovation and growth. As a rapidly growing international organisation in the sustainable energy sector, we’re committed to advancing our products and our people.
