That is why Alfen sees sustainable business as a moral duty. Alfen takes its place in society and adheres to the core values that are anchored in its vision and mission: the SPARK values. These core values determine, on the one hand, the way in which we meet the needs of our customers and, on the other, our view of the environment and our internal operations. Alfen strives to realize a share in sustainable development for the energy transition within society in a way that makes responsible choices both economically, socially and environmentally.

Sustainability is the first out of Alfen’s five core values: SPARK. The other four values also directly relate to our sustainability policy. Our SPARK values are the following:

Ecovadis
Alfen has been awarded a Bronze Medal in 2024 by EcoVadis, placing us among companies recognized for their progress in sustainability practices. This reflects our ongoing commitment to improving performance across the four EcoVadis pillars: Environment, Labor & Human Rights, Ethics, and Sustainable Procurement. Our ambition is to further strengthen our sustainability performance in the coming years.
Sustainalytics
Sustainalytics in 2024 recognized Alfen with a score of 21.5 confirming our commitment to managing sustainability risks responsibly and maintaining sound governance practices. This rating supports our focus on integrating ESG considerations into our strategy and operations, while continuously striving to strengthen our performance and resilience.
CDP
Alfen is preparing its 2024 CDP disclosure to strengthen transparency on climate and environmental performance. This disclosure underlines our commitment to accountability and our ambition for continuous improvement. We will share our results as soon as they become available.

UN Global Compact
Since 2024, Alfen has been a participant of the UN Global Compact, committing to its Ten Principles and the Sustainable Development Goals. Through our annual Communication on Progress, we measure and demonstrate our sustainability performance, gain insights to improve year by year, and benchmark ourselves against peers worldwide.
SBTI
Alfen has committed to the Science Based Targets initiative with approved near- and long-term targets aligned to limiting global warming to 1.5°C. Our validated targets guide us in reducing greenhouse gas emissions across our value chain and achieving net-zero by 2050.

Environmental Product Declaration
Since the end of 2024, Alfen has been developing Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) for our EV charging equipment. Our goal is to expand coverage across the full product portfolio, enabling us and our customers to better understand lifecycle emissions and identify reduction opportunities in line with Alfen’s sustainability objectives.
